WHAT IS SPRINGFIELD?
Springfield is the name of our home; our little cottage in the midst of rural Welsh farmland. Springfield Arts was the name we chose to reflect the homely nature of our environment and to help you find our location easily!
WHO ARE WE?
Springfield is the home of Rob and Fi, two classically trained singers who met through working for the Sixteen. Rob continues to sing around the globe for groups such as Cardinall's Musick and The Gabrieli Consort. He is the MD of Brecon Singers and Kington Choral Society. He has developed his woodworking skills from a slightly wonky bedside table, to a gorgeous studio, using recycled windows, pallets and timber. This studio is where the workshops take place.
Fi runs the local Hay-on-Wye Community Choir as well as the Hay Shantymen and Decibelles, as well as continuing her work with her two choirs in East Devon, Seaton Babes and Ballads and Beer’s Seriously Occasional Singers. She has always been passionate about art - from knitting huge blankets on the end of broomsticks, to felting a huge commission for St Michaels church in Beer, Devon. She has now formed her energy into organising art workshops and hosting her own felting courses throughout the year.
