‘Nature has mysterious infinities and imaginative power. It is always varying the productions it offers to us. The artist himself is one of nature’s means’ Paul Gaugin
Once the basic tools and materials of working with cold wax are understood the next challenge is to apply this knowledge to your own work. Utilising the varied and sensitive effects of cold wax, we will work towards developing a series of paintings inspired by our beautiful surroundings. There will be demonstrations on advanced cold wax techniques such as formulating your own cold wax mediums, pouring and glazing as well as presentation and display of work. So as Matisse put it 'You study, you learn but you guard the original innocence’ - on this course you will bring the inner vision and passion for your art into fruition.
Cold Wax Medium and supports will be provided for this course. A materials list will be sent out on enrolment.
Nicki Heenan is an Art Educator/Artist who lives in Wiltshire. She appears in a new book on Cold Wax which is the first book ever to be written about this exciting technique. You can find more of her work at her website.
